Yesterday I actually wanted to meet up with Dan at his workplace just before I meet up with Jiha to watch Nathan Hartono in concert but I don't know , for some weird reasons I didn't really want to swing by his workplace to meet him . It was strange I know but somehow work got in the way for him .

He actually asked me whether would it be better if I come by next week although by right he could have actually took some time off work yesterday just to have some coffee/tea with me , I figured next week will be better cos honestly I don't feel good in that despite his busy work schedule , he has to do such a thing for me & I would feel really really bad .

But anyway I'm ok with it & he was sweet in that he apologised over this but things are cool now . I actually did joked to Dan in that since I wasn't seeing him yesterday afternoon , he could probably buy me dinner last night haha but something cropped up so that didn't materialised .

So after Nathan's gig ended , Jiha & I walked to Marina Square to have some serious late dinner man . We ended up at Carl's Jr & if you asked me , the last time that I had Carl's Jr which was the very 1st time I had it was quite a while back at the Plaza Singapura outlet .

What I loved about Carl's Jr's that they have a low carb version of their HUGE enormous burgers . In case you don't know what's the meaning of low carb in this context , it means that instead of the bread buns that you get in all burgers to hold the trimmings , you get a bunch of lettuce leaves to hold the meat patties & the trimmings which to people who low carb it's a great option as you wouldn't waste anything .

If Carl's Jr doesn't have such a option , then it will be a case where I will order a burger & I will throw away the bread buns in which it will become a bunless burger for me to eat .

The portions of Carl's Jr's fanastic but what didn't sat well with me were 2 issues . 1stly was the price . I paid a really steep S$8 for my low carb Portobello Mushroom Burger (without tomatoes , I can't stand them unless it's diced up nicely just like what you find in Taco Bell) & mind you it's just the burger alone . If I were to go for the combo meal , it will set me at $11 !

Next when my low carb burger came , as time goes by when I was eating it , it got really messy in that the paper/packaging that came along with it , it got in the way many at times & the mushroom sauce was dripping practically everywhere . That happened also when I 1st tried Carl's Jr .

Still aside from these minor issues , like the steep prices & all , what I paid for's really worth it . You imagine before I ordered my low carb burger , I was telling Jiha that I probably could order 2 Carl's Jr's burgers & after I finished my low carb Portobello Mushroom Burger , I was stuffed !

So if you're a super carnivore or you have an insane huge appetite like myself , you should check out Carl's Jr man . Just how huge my low carb burger was ? Probably 2-3x the size of a McDonalds's Big Mac !

I caught local Jazz singer Nathan Hartono's debut solo concert which's titled Feeling Good With Nathan Hartono last night which was held at the Esplanade Recital Studio & with thanks to MTV ASIA/Music & Movement , I went to attend his maiden gig with Jiha for free haha & this event was part of Esplanade's Late Night Series too .

Before I go on further , I have to say that it was deja vu all over for me again as the very 1st Esplanade gig that I went for which took place almost 2 years ago was Electrico's Sound Therapy gig which incidentally was part of Esplanade's Late Night Series & also it was held at the Esplanade Recital Studio so eariler when I was there again after almost 2 years ago since I last stepped inside , it brought back fond memories of the very 1st Electrico gig that I attended .

Not to mention , like both events , Nathan & Electrico's Esplanade's Late Night Series gigs were all sold out . By right Nathan was supposed to stage his concert at 9.30pm only but due to such a strong demand for the tickets , Esplanade had to add an extra timeslot which was the 1 that Jiha & I went for at 7.30pm so just before Jiha & I stepped inside the recital studio , I saw the big banner that was plastered inside the Esplanade which was advertising Nathan's gig .

Not sure if the words SOLD OUT refers to the 9.30pm timeslot or to both the 7.30pm & 9.30pm timeslots . Probably for both .

Unlike most local gigs that I went for , events that were organised by the Esplanade usually & tends to start on time & this time around for Nathan's case , it started at 7.35pm which was already good !

Just to shed some light on Nathan Hartono . He's only 15 but yet he has accomplished so much since winning the very 1st Teenage Magazine Teenage Icon in 2005 & yes in the beginning , I said that his forte lies in Jazz which in a way makes him the youngest local Jazz singer around .

Before that , I have definitely heard a lot about Nathan & also the many accomplishments/acclodes that he has been getting since obviously I read Teenage & etc but yet I never got the chance to listen to his material which I'm glad that I won tickets via MTV ASIA on Mon as it gave me an opportunity to experience whether how good/bad he sounds .

& during the 1 hour show that he performed & sang , I think he's great & if you ask me , he looks even better & more dashing in real life haha

I have a confession to make in that before , I didn't listened to a lot of Jazz but it was only recently when I started to listen to J Pop Jazz singer Mika Nakashima which you can say changed my opinion & perception towards Jazz music as I assumed before gaining an apperication towards Jazz in that it was boring & stuffy .

The recital studio was packed just as I expected . Almost all 250 seats were taken up , that's how hot & in demand Nathan's . Nathan was accompanied by his band consisting of a pianist which doubled up as a keyboardist , a drummer , a bassist & a lead guitarist .

I went to his concert with an open mind & I have to admit that I was really blown away by his singing , talent & etc . Although he's only 15 , I'm sure he has a lot of potential to succeed in the local music scene in the long run .

Nathan mostly did Big Band Swinging Jazz No.s during the 1 hour duration of his maiden solo gig & he sneaked in some covers as well which were done in a really refreshing Jazz manner such as Keane's Everybody's Changing & would you believe it or not , The White Stripes's 7 Nation Army !

His take on 7 Nation Army was something like in the manner that Mika went for in NANA & pre/post NANA in that it was pretty rockish & jazzy at the same time & it was probably the most Rock-oriented song/cover that he did last night which I think it's great as he put a fresh sound/spin to the original . I'm usually not big on covers but this's an exception so thumbs up to him .

A surprise happened later on in the show where Teenage Icon '06 winner Ming Bridges came & did a duet with him in which later on she sang a cover of Corinne Bailey Rae's Put Your Records On .

If there's any gross that I like to talk about was that I realised when the drums were being played , the sound was a bit loud & it unfortunately or not , drowned the piano/keyboards & in the process the music of the piano/keyboards were somewhat being swallowed by the drums's .

& the place where Jiha & I were seated at , whenever Nathan finished doing a song , I was greeted by some hardcore fans of him who kept on screaming & clapping for him a little bit too much which was really gritting on the ears & it got even louder when Nathan did an encore of 2 songs in which 1 of them was his self penned original song called My Crush .

I was 15 once so I understand the whole groupie issue but the girls who did that were a bit too much to me . Somemore it didn't happened at 1 particular spot . It happened at all sides , North , South , East & West so in a way it made my hair stand !

Still I enjoyed myself a lot eariler & somemore what better way to treat Jiha on her birthday than this ! Actually I did asked Dan on whether would he like to accompany me since I won tickets but that didn't happened obviously . Honestly I think if he were to accompany me , he probably might feel outta place or probably bored during Nathan's concert haha cos I think you have to understand/like Jazz & appericate such music & guess what ? after watching Nathan in performance , I have gained a whole new respect & apperication towards Big Band Jazz no.s .

Am considering to get Nathan's debut solo album Let Me Sing! to relieve last night's moment , bliss !

Let's welcome another person who officially joined the 20's club today which's none other than Jiha , happy birthday ! Hope you like the card & the stickers that I sent you in the mail a few days ago & she will accompanying me to watch Nathan Hartono's Feeling Good With Nathan Hartono later on tonight !

Received an SMS from Perlini Silver yesterday in that just for today , there will be a 15% storewide discount & of course terms & conditions do apply . It sounds quite tempting I know & if you ask me , it has been quite a long time since I bought something from Perlini cos I hate to say this but the latest designs that they have in their stores , nothing caught my eye in that it makes me want to buy at least something .

Some Electrico pics that were taken during Rock For Wayne on Sat with credits going to Perplexed/Thomas

This happened when Teenage Queen was done , ace ! :

A few of us were a bit confused over Linda's birthday . Some thought it was yesterday & while some thought it's today . Well guess what ? The birthday girl said it was yesterday haha so TingRen & I were right !

Later on at night I'm gonna meet my mum as she wants me to accompany her to school to pay the school fees for my 2nd year in Uni as the school gave me an option on whether I want to pay the school fees before/after 30th June cos on July 1st , the GST hike will set in .

& of course naturally my mum wants to pay the school fees before the GST hike so why not ?

Initally she wanted to meet me during her lunch break but she figured that it will be a rush for her so my mum decided it will be better to settle this after she finished work .

My mum did asked me whether would I wanna switch to another different Uni/degree course . Now I have to admit this has never cross my mind at all . After all , I'm not sure if my school allows such a decision to take place but I don't see any reason/s to switch . Unless you're talking about the same Uni but switching to another degree course , that I think it's possible .

I guess my mum's worried whether can I cope in the latter part of my degree course as she had a look at the subjects that I will be taking in due time & she commented they look dry . But I decided to stay put .

Anyway should the school allows me to switch to a different Uni/degree course , it will be really troublesome as I have to adapt to new surroundings/people AGAIN so why bother in a way ?

1st of all , today's the day where 2 of my friends turned a year older & hopefully wiser . It's none other than Linda & Maggie . Happy birthday you guys :) I hope you will enjoy yourself today cos I mean you deserve it , it's your birthday after all .

I spent the whole of yesterday recuperating & resting big time at home & probably I will do so for today as well . I was so shattered & tired , it wasn't funny . I do hope that I will recover soon as I'm sure any lady out there would tell you that she hates getting periods , it's like being pregnant 12 times in a year man !

Yesterday Okinawa-born Japanese-American musician Caroline Lufkin or simply Caroline performed last night at the Esplanade's Recital Studio . I didn't went for it obviously as I didn't bought tickets but hopefully the reception was good .

When the papers announced that Caroline was coming to S'pore to perform , I was surprised . I think some of her stuff's ok but it's not really my cup of tea . I prefer her older sister Olivia Lufkin or simply OLIVIA/OLIVIA inspi' REIRA (TRAPNEST) . I think OLIVIA rocks & I would definitely pay to see her perform should she ever stop by here as I think she's great .

Any CD shops in S'pore's stupid not to import OLIVIA's CDs to be sold here . I checked most CD shops outlets , they weren't selling it on their J Pop CD racks :(

& what do you know I won something today haha . Someone from MTV ASIA called me just now to say that I won a pair of tickets to go watch local jazz singer Nathan Hartoro's debut solo concert this coming Friday night which will be taking place at the Esplanade's Recital Studio at 7.30pm .

What a surprise & I didn't expect that I won the tickets from MTV ASIA . Somemore I only took part in the contest just this morning & in a way I was trying my luck in getting them . What makes it even more surprising's that the closing date for the contest's today haha

But still cool lah . Somemore I haven't heard Nathan's material yet but I heard he's good judging from all the accoldes that he has been getting . By right this Fri night , he was supposed to stage his Feeling Good With Nathan Hartoro gig at only 1 timeslot at 9.30pm .

However due to strong ticket demand , the 9.30pm timeslot tickets have all been sold out so an extra timeslot has been added in at 7.30pm which's the 1 that I'm going for .

He's only 15 which's pretty something & his name rings a bell to me as I know he won the 1st Teenage Magazine's Teenage Icon back in 2005 & he does Jazz no.s so this should be interesting .

Since I will have quite a bit to talk about with regards to yesterday's Rock For Wayne , I will spilt it into 2 groups namely gig & non gig related details of yesterday's event then so here we go !

Gig related details :

Before I start , here're the list of bands who performed at yesterday's Rock For Wayne namely :

1) The Fire Fight
2) Humpback Oak (yes the 1 & only ! )
3) The Great Spy Experiment
4) A Vacant Affair
5) Force Vomit
6) West Grand Boulevard
7) Caracal
8) Electrico
9) Astroninja All Stars

Each of the band's set's roughly about 30 mins which's about 4-5 songs that each of the acts did .

By right the event was supposed to start at 4pm+ but as always for such events , it doesn't start & end on time cos around 4pm+ still , the bands were still doing their soundchecks & tuning of their instrument so doors weren't opened til about 5pm+ .

There were security checks before Dila & I stepped inside The Pavilion . I don't mind security checks but I cannot understand why they want people to empty their water bottles as they worried there might be alcohol containing in the bottles & if you ask me , it's pretty silly . Somemore food can't be brought inside too . Like people will start eating once they're inside The Pavilion . I think they will be more interested in watching the bands performing than eating .

But anyway after much further delay , Rock For Wayne was running prim & proper when the 1st band in the lineup The Fire Fight came onstage to kick things off . Now I have to admit , I actually didn't wanted to watch them performed cos I'm not familiar with their material even though I heard some of their songs on their MySpace & also they were featured in Straits Times's Life a while back with Leonard commenting that they're good in which by the way , Leonard manned the sound for the whole event yesterday .

& guess what ? Leonard's so right as The Fire Fight was awesome & kicking . They have great stage presence & chemistry , it was really something . 1/2 way though their set , Dan texted me saying that Fire Fight's set was fricking amazing . I think so too & I think Dan was in The Pavilion somewhere or else how would have he know about it ? Come to think about it , it was pretty strange that both Dan & I were watching Fire Fight performing but yet he wasn't beside me haha

But anyway next band in line to perform was the 1 & only Humpback Oak who reformed & performed just for yesterday . If you ask me , outta the 9 acts who performed yesterday , I was excited to see Humpback Oak performed the most simply because I have heard so much about them as they're supposedly 1 of the pioneers in the local music scene . That's til they disbanded in 1999 .

It took 8 long years for them to reform & to play again just for yesterday & you don't know how chuffed I was when all of them finally came onstage to perform .

I realised that when Humpback Oak was performing , the audience in the crowd namely teenagers were pretty bored with Humpback Oak's material as they probably might be thinking , "who're these bunch of 'old' & mature guys performing onstage" or worst still "who're they how come I never heard of this band called Humpback Oak before " which I think it's pretty sad seeing that Humpback Oak has inspired so many of the current crop of local musicians .

But of course the folks in the audience who're adults or should I say 25 & above were feeling Humpback Oak's music & I caught sight of some people humming to their songs which was great !

I really enjoyed Humpback Oak's set despite the fact that I only know 1 song from them which was Ghostfather which I heard on their MySpace & what better way to close their set but with that no. . To me it's a really haunting yet beautiful track .

If you ask me , I think Humpback Oak's material's pretty much a more simplified , stripped down version of The Observatory's music since the frontman of both bands's Leslie Low . That's if you take away the cello , keyboards , synth , computer programming etc & you pretty much get Humpback Oak .

3rd band in the lineup was The Great Spy Experiment . Was the 2nd time that I caught them in action , the 1st was in D'Marquee which they were sorta opening for Rivermaya .

Great Spy's set was damn good . Their live reditions of Class A Love Affair , Siti In The City were great . I was hoping that they would have done Captain Funkycurls leh but it doesn't matter , they put up a good rocking show yesterday & I'm looking forward to the release of their album in due time !

I didn't watched A Vacant Affair performed cos at this time my period was starting to kill me so Dila & I went outside to get some water & to EAT . Whenever my period comes , I have to eat a LOT , probably like a hippo .

Dila & I came back a while just in time to watch another iconic local act Force Vomit in the middle of their set . I seen them performed live before at last Dec's LIME Sonic Bang .

Force Vomit was totally slamming & they will be performing in the Esplanade Recital Studio this coming 27th July , Fri to celebrate 14 years of existence . Yeah they have been around for so long , it's hard to believe it & the live redition of Siti was really good & rocking !

The next 2 bands after Force Vomit are 2 of them which I haven't seen them performed live prior to last night + I wasn't familiar with their material as well . West Grand Boulevard & Caracal were the next 2 acts to perform .

Umm.. not sure if it's just me but although I like the music of West Grand & Caracal , I have a problem hearing what both bands were singing . Just like Fire Fight , Caracal was featured in ST's Life & also Leonard gives them the thumbs up too .

But I got to give both bands credit for having such great chemistry & stage presence & that they really know how to work up the crowd .

There were 3 video montages that were aired for everyone to see yesterday . Montages that were shown to honour Wayne 'Thunder' Seah . Prior to his unexpected death , Rock For Good was his last project which has since been renamed to Rock For Wayne in memory of him .

I caught the montages & it's touching to see how much Wayne has inspired so many of his friends/local musicians/fans & I'm sure he can rest in peace now knowing that the last project he has his hands on , was a huge & big success .

After West Grand & Caracal took the stage , it was my boys & girl Electrico who took the stage . Actually they're not supposed to play anymore shows after they returned back from US cos by right they're supposed to be on an indefinite hiatus but for Wayne's sake , they obliged as Electrico was 1 of Wayne's fave local bands .

Before they took the stage , I told Dan that I will be rooting for him & the rest .

Electrico started things off with Studman which was followed by a cover of The Boredphucks/The Suns's Rock With You . I never heard the original version of Rock With You before but it sounds good .

It's hard to believe that Dan suffered a freak accident when the rest went on tour in US but he was great onstage last night . Although he didn't rocked out as wild & as hard as before , still it was all good !

Electrico's set was the shortest among the other acts as the rest of the bands did about 5 songs but for Electrico , they did only 4 . Initally I heard from Des that they might do 1 song only (!!) & from Dan , 2 songs but finally it became 4 .

Next up in line after Rock With You was Teenage Queen which was wheeeeeeeee as they know that it's my fave track off the record of Hip City . & Des was teling me prior to the gig that they weren't doing Teenage Queen -.- . The rumour was further squashed by Dan who told me later on that they will do it because they take song requests mah hahaha

& what do you know , Dan said that they did Teenage Queen for me hee hee . Thanks lah guys you all are too sweet !

& what better way to close their set with We're Not Made In The USA which I feel the live redition always always always sounds a hell lot more better than the album version . Damn kicking .

This was the last show that Electrico's played for the year & they rocked out loud & proud last night . I'm not sure whether later on in 2007 will they be playing anymore shows but for now , from what I heard from Des , it's the last 1 for the moment .

Electrico was the 2nd last act to perform last night & right before the steller all cast of Astroninja All Stars came onstage to wrap things up for the night , the organisers came onstage to give away a beautiful Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar .

Wayne's dad was the 1 who picked the lucky winner whose everyone's ticket stubs were inside a box & omg , when the organiser announced the lucky winner's name , I was in shock . Why ? Because the lucky winner was Dila !

I don't know who was more shocked but unbelievable man . This's the beautiful Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar that Dila won :

oh my god , so nice & you imagine she had to carry that all the way back home when we took the last bus last night haha

But anyway Astroninja All Stars , consisting of 13 people from different bands . On vocals aka Venom Vocals , you got 3 people on board , namely Levan Wee from Ex-Ronin which incidentally Ronin played their last show with Levan yesterday at Orchard Cineleisure , PeepShow's Zaki & Allura's Inch .

For guitarists aka The Magnificent 5 Guitarist , you got 5 people , namely Ronin's Sean , Bad Obsession's Dong , Sipper Zipper's Roxxi , Caracal's Field & Syawla Evol's Don .

For bassists aka The Bad Ass Bassists , you got 3 people , namely Electrico's Desmond , Levean Trait's Joel & Caracal's KC .

For keyboardist aka Phantom Keyboardist , it's the lovely Amanda from Electrico & last but definitely not least , for drummer aka Wicked Drummer , you got Syed from West Grand .

Whew , what a big lineup of people & not only that , everyone was decked out in funky & somewhat ecentric costumes which was pretty unique . I love Inch's costume which was a purple Japanese Kimono . Amanda was decked out in a strange yet nice red outfit .

Des's outfit was funny , with the whole ghoul like outfit & that infamous Ultraman mask hahaha . I know he used to perform with that Ultraman mask when Electrico 1st started playing gigs but didn't expect the mask would made a comeback last night haha

I thought the mask was lost for quite a long time already . Maybe Des went out & buy another new 1 haha

Astroninja All Stars was given the honour to close the show . I didn't managed to catch some of the songs that they did but I know they did reditions of My Chemical Romance's I'm Not Okay , ACDC's Thunderstrike & what better way to close the event with their original composition Thunder which's dedicated to Wayne .

The live redition of Thunder was absolutely amazing & right before the night comes to an end , the last video montage was aired & this time it's Wayne's parents thanking everyone for coming down to support their late son's last project .

Non gig related details :

Des gave me a whole bunch of stickers yesterday after they were done with soundcheck . Cos The Pavilion's made of glass , I could easily see what was going on yesterday during soundcheck .

Somemore he was the 1st from the band that came outside & he was talking to some people . Then I went up to him & said hi & stuff .

Kelvin was supposed to tag along but he called yesterday morning to say that he's nursing a bad cold .

But wah the stickers that Des gave to me was too much man ! When I said I want a few , I didn't expect him to give me so many so thanks Des . The extras I will keep them in my drawer !

Amanda came out next & it was good to see her again . Last I heard from her , she cut her hair & I like her new hairstyle . She looked lovely with the whole eyeliner & mascara get up .

What she wore yesterday was casual but she made it looked really good on herself .

I saw William & Dave much much later on . William hasn't changed much in any bit though haha but ahh Dave , he was sporting a rather new hairstyle yesterday with the front of his hair all spiking up which he carried it off really well .

The last person I saw was Dan & eariler when they were doing soundcheck , I did saw him & oh god his hair ! It's pretty long & messy . Gee & I thought the last time I saw him , it was bad .

If I know his hair's in this state I would have brought a pair of scissors to snip away his hair haha

After Great Spy's set ended , Dila & I left The Pavilion a while to get something to drink/eat cos at this stage I almost couldn't make it & decided that I better recharge myself before something might happened later on .

& outta nowhere , when both of us were walking/talking , I heard someone calling my name & what do you know it's Dan ! It was so nice to see my dear big bro once again & aww he gave me a nice little hug :)

Dan & I were talking about the acts who performed so far , like Fire Fight , Humpback Oak & Great Spy & we both agreed that all acts that performed eariler were great .

At this point in time , I was nudging to Dila to tell Dan about that poly project that's practically killing the whole class & not just her & around this time , I excused myself & had to find some place just to sit down for a while cos the pain was sucking the life outta me & while the both of them were talking/discussing about the much dreaded project , I did managed to catch here & there on what they were talking about & er , can someone said geek much ?

As much as I wanted to talk to Dan about other issues yesterday , cos of the current state I'm in , I couldn't but hopefully after all of this's finished , I can meet up with him probably next week or in due time to talk more once I recover . It's not fair , why's that my period has to come on those days that I don't want it to come ? Sniff :(

I told him that I will be rooting for him & the rest later on when they take the stage so it's cool & after that Dila & I went to China Square to have dinner . I was telling Dila that at least eariler Dan managed to give her some pointers & etc so at least right now she has a rough idea how to tackle the problem cos it seems like a very difficult project for her to handle .

But at least she indirectly knows someone who can help her , I wonder how about the rest of the groups in her class , I think their plight will probably be worst than her's .

I was supposed to meet Dan again right after Rock For Wayne concluded but he texted me to say that he had to leave early cos just like me he wasn't feeling well too . Oh dear , I hope he will be alright , I'm sure he will recover faster than me haha but not before I texted him to say thanks for playing Teenage Queen haha

I had fun with Dila yesterday for sure . Too bad about my period though which got in the way or else I will probably had even more fun than ever . But still I shouldn't complain . After all it was good to catch up with everyone in Electrico once again & I'm sure next year , Rock For Good will be back & it will be bigger & better than this year !

So today's techincally the last day of my so called Bachelorette life unless I count tomorrow as well but I'm not since everyone will be back tomorrow afternoon/night but do I have fun for the past few days ? HELL YEAH !

& 1 thing I realised's that for the past few days , there's only 1 word to sum it up - climbing & I know what the hell . Because there's no 1 to buy the papers , I have to walk & climb the overhead bridge to where the petrol stations's are located . I could have just cross the road but I don't want to especially since there was an old man who died in FRONT of my house because he crossed the road + last Sat night , there was a serious case of a car accident that took place opposite my house in the roadside where about 4 cars collided & 1 TIBS bus was involved in it too.

To make it more drama , 1 of the cars that was smashed like a pancake , it caught fire & I was in the car on the way home on the road where I saw everything that happened . Luckily I didn't saw what happened before that so that's some sembalance .

Not sure how many times have I climbed up & down , down & up the overhead bridges for the past few days man . Probably countless . At this rate I should have no problem joining a steps aerobics class in the future !

+ switching on the aircon in the living room whenever I want to , bliss ! & also eariler when I went out in the afternoon , I was right , the sugar free chocolate cake that Aroma was selling , it's still the best outta the whole sugar free selection that I tried so far ! Somemore it was the last piece that was on the counter so all the more should get it .

Aroma was also selling the last piece of sugar free carrot cake but er I'm not big on carrot cake lah & no it's not the 1 that you can commonly find in hawker centres . It's the other kind !

I went to have dinner with Ah Yee & Auntie Juat Ngoh last night . We went to Prego which's located at Raffles The Plaza . Somehow , I felt under-dressed as Prego's quite a posh & upper end Italian restaurant man & it was so funny to see Auntie Juat Ngoh wearing office wear cos usually when I see her , she would be decked in casual wear but office wear ? Nah !

The food wasn't cheap but the huge portions make it up for the rather steep prices . Auntie Juat Ngoh ordered a Medium Prego pizza which the waiter said that it's 1 of their speciality & when the pizza came , oh god , the portion's HUGE . Think the large size of Pizza Hut's pizzas & you get the idea . Cos Ah Yee's not really big on cheese , I was the 1 who ate the pizza toppings & she ate the crust so that's a win win situation for the both of us haha

As Robinson launched a 20% off sale last night til Sun , Ah Yee bought a pair of shoes which I helped her to select & I know a while back , I did said that I don't mind a labtop should I do well in my studies but looks like I will not see the day/light of getting 1 myself which honestly I don't mind lah but Ah Yee more than make it up to me by getting me a nice formal long sleeve purple top last night from The Station which I really really like !

I realised that The Station sells pretty good formal wear which's great & last night I found something quite amusing which's on The Station's clothes rack , the purple top that I selected last night , there was also a short sleeve of the same top .

Basically everything's the same , same design , same colour & except you can either get the short sleeve or the long sleeve & what's the price difference ? S$10 haha so if I were to buy the short sleeve top , it will be S$59 while the long sleeve top will set me for S$69 . I find it pretty amusing that you have to pay S$10 more for the long sleeve 1 -_- . So does that mean that you pay S$10 extra just because more cloth was used to make the long sleeve top ? Probably !

I don't mind the short sleeve 1 but I sorta have this phobia that my arms look really fat . Hui Li has that too but it's ok lah , I go with long sleeve this time . After all it will be troublesome should I buy the short sleeve & have to wear a jacket over it .

Who knows I probably might wear that to ET's wedding that will be taking place in the months to come haha

& ooh I just realised something this morning . Cos I already had a short sleeve red top from The Station , I was checking the size of it & comparing it to last night's buy & guess what ? The long sleeve purple top's 1 size smaller than the red top in my closet & you know what this means ? I'm down 1 size for tops YAY

I had a rather crappy start this morning . I found out my period came ! Dammit , it has to come 1 day before Rock For Wayne , basket . It will be better if it comes after Rock For Wayne . Not now , this's so not good & needless to say , I was feeling all blah & like a piece of shit-head just now .

Funny though , I broke out in a cold sweat after I came back from buying the papers from the petrol station & right now I seem to be ok but eariler wah I looked crap , really crap .

No wonder I felt so shattered this morning & it's all because of this stupid period of mine . Basket , I hope tomorrow I will be ok .

I hope so lah , somemore I'm going to see Dan tomorrow which I'm definitely looking forward to ! I haven't seen him for almost 2 months so yup . Somemore I just had a lovely good talk with him on MSN yesterday morning which I haven't do that in a while .

He's gross man , of all things he was going on about was zits as right now I currently have a zit that's smacked in the middle of my nose & he also has 1 too so it's like the 1st few mins we were going on about it . He knows that I'm home alone & he was teasing me saying that now that I'm home alone for the moment , he will just gross me out with more zit related stories .

EEEEEEE .... somehow I can deal with less of his bullying antics but it's ok lah . Anyway I already tolerated his bullying antics for quite a long time already so what to do ? I got no choice anyway haha

At most tomorrow in order to get back at him , I will gross him out with issues relating to periods & blood heh heh but no lah I don't think I will do that . I'm too nice ... NOT . At least yesterday when he was going on about the whole zit issue , I ate my breakfast long time ago or else I will puke .

but anyway tomorrow , Rock For Wayne !

So yesterday was the last episode of To Get Unstuck In Time (隔世追凶)& verdict on the finale ? The last 15 mins or so was a bit shit & questions were left hanging in mid air man .

But I enjoyed the show throughly despite having only 22 episodes & tonight there will be a new HK show taking over which's called Split Second (争分夺秒) . I've been seeing the trailer of it almost everyday & I don't know , it looks really depressing & quite cheem so not sure if I want to watch it or not .

I thought about something yesterday which I feel most people experience which's drifting away from people/friends which sometimes can be a good/bad thing depending on how you see things .

There's this person who IM'd me a few messages last year on MySpace . Assuming that he's a nice person , I thought why not & replied him back so techincally I got to know this guy whom I should called A just last year . For a while things were good , pretty much had a lot of things to talk about under the sun .

I don't know what happened soon after that despite seeing him in person 2x so far & the last I saw him was Sat during Lunarin's acoustic set or should I say after Lunarin's set ended . Linda probably knows who I'm talking about but ya , I'm not sure what happened man . It's like we just drift away from each other , just like that without any reasons or what-so-ever .

I'm sure A's a nice person no doubt about it but there's something which I cannot pinpoint about him . It's weird cos usually for my case I can communicate pretty well with people who're older than me but in A's case , not sure why but I just can't seem to & he's 10 years older than me .

Then again in this situation , I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that both of us just drifted apart just like that but I can't help but wonder why things have to turn out in this manner & not to mention can't help but felt a bit disappointed about it .

Had a lot of fun eariler at MediaCorp more precisely at the 987FM studio where I got to witness 1st hand the recording of this Sat's 987 Home & this week it's SkiVe's turn to take the hot seat.

Ok so I reached the reception desk pretty early considering that I lived reasonably near Andrew Road where it's about a 20-25 mins bus ride that I took just now . I almost alighted at the wrong bus stop but luckily I asked the bus driver before doing anything else . Heng man & I actually pressed the button too early as by right I supposed to alight 3-4 bus stops later on :S

But aside from that boo boo , I soon made my way to MediaCorp . Waited a while before the guys came 1 by 1 .

Guitarist Brian & his girlfriend came together with Caleb 1stly . So nice to see Caleb once again & hmm.. if it's just me , I think his hair looks better than the last time I saw him haha

The rest of the guys namely bassist JC , the other guitarist Soon & lead singer Marcus came soon after & they were almost 25 mins late & I remembered Soon was telling everyone to meet at 1pm . Er... looks like he kinda overshot on time .

But yes it's about due time that I finally met Soon face to face cos I have been communicating with him a while already via MSN & Caleb was cool , he was the 1 who did all the intro cos aside from him , the rest have not met me before so yup .

Everyone brought their instruments cos for today's recording of 987 Home , it's an interview + acoustic performance that SkiVe will be doing & this time , I did bring my IC along !

The last time I went to MediaCorp where I did 987 Control , the receptionist was a bit bitchy . Even though my IC No. was on my Uni pass , they wouldn't let me exchange it for a visitor pass but this time I know better .

I didn't really talked to JC & Brian that much but Marcus was a nice person . While everyone was walking towards the Radio Building , he was asking me how I came to know about SkiVe & etc & for a brief moment , I suddenly became a navigator as the rest didn't really know how to go to the 987 Studio .

& in no time , we were inside the 987 Studio ! Had to walk past the studios of 938 Live & also Class95 too . Unlike last time when I did 987 Control where I have to go to another room to do the recording , this time the recording of 987 Home took place inside the studio itself & 987 Home host Soo Wei was inside to greet everyone.

If I know the studio was SO chilly , next time I would have brought along a sweater , a thick 1 nontheless -_- .

The guys set up their equipment 1st & did a bit of soundcheck & tuning as it seems that SkiVe will be performing 1st & then the interview with Soo Wei will take place & like I mentioned before , I haven't seen how a live radio performance nor interview's being done so it was a 1st for me !

Maybe next time if Lunarin/Electrico were to appear on 987 Home again , they should let me know . Wouldn't hurt to tag along haha

But anyway SkiVe performed a great acoustic live set 1st . They did The Same Old Sky , Lost Again & Standing In The Rain in which for Standing In The Rain , I never heard it before but it sounds really good & at this time , I realised that Marcus has a really nice voice & can sing !

It's like his singing voice sounds exactly the same on record & when he sang live eariler , I'm not kidding !

The live acoustic of Lost Again was fab man . The Same Old Sky's ain't bad too but to me , Lost Again takes the cake & I'm psyched that it's gonna be the next single after The Same Old Sky .

So after the performance was wrapped up , the next 1 - 1 hour 15 mins or so was spent doing the interview with Soo Wei . Oh my god , whether it's stuff that will/will not be broadcast this coming Sat night , it's equally hilarious & everyone really can joke !

Soon was pretty mean man . Keep on cracking jokes & also talked quite a lot of nonsense on practically almost anything under the sun & the rest of the guys like to pick on Caleb almost all the time -_- . Poor Caleb , I feel for you really haha

But aside from that , I can tell Soon was serious & real passionate when comes to talking about his band & other issues too . Aside from the numerous rude yet a bit sickening jokes that SkiVe cracked with Soo Wei on/off air which I don't think I can put it down here in print , at least I get a glimpse on the band & most importantly a better understanding/knowledge on SkiVe & the guys mentioned that a full length album's on the cards & it's scheduled to be released probably end of the year so woo hoo !

Have to tell Soon to put my name on the preorder list haha but yeah I had a lot of fun eariler , was awesome & Soo Wei's very warm & friendly too . She passed me her business card eariler & I actually did seen her in person before which was er last Sept during the Waterfest where Electrico was performing .

& Soon still owe me the EP ! At most he mail it to me & I wouldn't have to pay for it then haha

It's down to the final 2 episodes of To Get Unstuck In Time (隔世追凶) & oops initally I thought that will be 21 episodes but instead it's 22 but in anycase , yes tomorrow night's the finale .

& from tonight til Sat , I will have the whole house to myself wahaha & I think it's gonna be real shiok especially for the next few days , I will have a bit more freedom than usual as my parents wouldn't be around to keep tabs on me .

For once , my dad's smart . He did told my paternal relatives that the whole family's going away but they don't know that I'm staying put & you know what this means ? I wouldn't be facing any calls on an hour basis aka un-necessary harressment so woo hoo !

I don't mind getting calls from my maternal relatives but my paternal ? A hell YES . Just thankful that my house's not installed with tons & tons of security cameras if not it's like I will be under house arrest or something .

But for now , I'm just looking forward to have the whole house to myself & also finding ways to keep myself occupied too . I actually wanted to meet up with Dan at his workplace in the days to come but he's busy so that will have to wait til Sat where I see him during Rock For Wayne .

Anyway that's ok & fine with me , it's not like I would never see him again or something unless I have a major big fallout with him or anyone else .

I'm looking forward to tomorrow which's heading to MediaCorp to witness the recording of 987 Home with SkiVe ! The recording's already 2 weeks overdue as 2 weeks back , Caleb cannot make it & last week Soo Wei took leave so it's about time .

+ I heard that they might be doing a live acoustic set of The Same Old Sky & Lost Again & I haven't witness a live radio performance yet so I think tomorrow should be fun & not to mention I will be surrounded by 5 guys so I shouldn't complain haha

Not sure if Soo Wei will interview SkiVe or not but looks like I will only know tomorrow afternoon !

I have been eating non stop over the weekend & it was evident especially yesterday since everyone went out to celebrate Hui Li's bday & of all things I overate during the weekend was Roasted Pork can you believe it.

So what happened yesterday was that my mum made a reservation for High Tea at Carlton Hotel but when we arrived , the place was super packed & the food wasn't up to my standard cos my mum was worried that I will have nothing to eat which she's probably right should we decide to stay at Carlton Hotel & eat cos most of what the restaurant was serving were deep fried stuff .

Somemore the restaurant was full house as it was Father's Day too so we gave up & walked towards Raffles City .

Before that I snapped this which was found outside the restaurant which I thought it was pretty funny :

haha never seen such a big durian in my life before , ie. if you don't count the Esplanade as 1 !

Eventually I landed up at Plaza Market Cafe which's located at Swissôtel The Stamford & it was really deja vu for me . I remembered when I was younger , everyone used to go there for buffet dinners over & over again .

I'm not sure what happened but when Plaza Market Cafe changed its concept to what it offered in the buffet menu , ie. Peranakan , I stopped going there . + it was getting too expensive & somemore I think everyone was getting real sian of going there to eat as we kept going there countless of times .

So in a way , I supposed we went there to eat yesterday for old times's sake but luckily it was a good 1 even though I'm not big on Peranakan food as I probably not familiar with their cuisine & my chilli tolerance's quite bad .

But yesterday I was quite game to try some of the dishes which practically has the same colour which was red . I thought everything would be spicy but it was bearable spicy .

I like the Satay Babi which's actually pork cooked in Satay sauce . Usually when I eat Satay , I eat it just like that , I don't dip it in the peanut sauce or whatever extra trimmings that comes along with it . + I also went a bit overboard with the Roasted Pork that was served too.

It's funny but when I was a kid , whenever I go back to my maternal grandma's house for dinner , there would be a plate of Roasted Pork on the dinner table which she bought from the market . I remembered that I would always eat the crispy skin off the Roasted Pork & I hated the meat but now obviously that's different I like to eat both the meat & the crispy skin .

No doubt I love to eat fat such as roasted chicken skin , fat in sirloin steak , roasted duck skin & etc but with the exception of Roasted Pork , I don't like to eat fat that's found in pork especially the pig skin which I think it's gross .

I don't mind eating fat from Kong Bak unless it's toasted real crispy to perfection like what my dad does sometimes but other than that , eew no . I would trim it off the meat . Have you seen the thickness of the pork fat ? Quite gross lor !

& yup I was right , the Sour Cream & Onion soup that I had from The Soup Spoon on Sat , it's not permanent on the soup menu so before I left Raffles City , I went there , did a takeaway in the form of Grande size which I had it for dinner .

Soup Spoon really should consider adding Sour Cream & Onion permanently to the menu man...

Happy B'day to my younger sister Hui Li who turned 17 today yay & it wouldn't be long before she hit the legal age of 18 next year . Legal to drink , legal to drive , legal to hit the clubs , legal to watch M18 movies & the list can just go on & on & on .

I remembered when I was 17 , I was sorta cursing & swearing the life outta myself as to WHY WHY WHY am I 17 ? I want to be 18 cos it seems you're almost there but because of a minus 01 in your age , you cannot drink , drive , go party , watch M18 movies legally so right now it's Hui Li's turn to moan & stuff for the next year or so .

That's what I have been going though similarly for the past 5 months or so , as to here & there curse & swear the life outta myself as to WHY WHY WHY am I 20 instead of 21 ? cos when you're 21 , it's the life man & 1 of the 1st few things that I'm probably gonna do's to hit the casinos in Genting legally haha instead of sneaking in illegally whenever I go there & got bursted & in trouble with the security guards for at least almost 6-7 times I tried to sneak in with my mum , I managed to enter the casinos 3 times haha

I just hope when she turns 18 next year & when I turn 21 next Jan , Dan & the rest of the friends I know better don't teach me all the naughty stuff , especially Dan I tell you haha but I don't think he will lah , after all I'm already old enough to be responsible for my own actions

But at least for now , just like how Dan said , I still can say that I'm 20 & not in my early 20's heh

Had a rather smashing good time with Jiha eariler . In fact I was out with her practically the whole day but it was all good in catching up with her since it has been a while since I last saw her . Somemore she hasn't caught Lunarin in performance just yet & might as well do it today since this's their last show for 2006 before going on hiatus .

1stly , we went to Suntec's Eng Wah to catch Fanastic Four : Rise Of The Silver Surfer . It was good & to me it doesn't suffer the whole 2nd sequel syndrome . Silver Surfer's 1 cool dude man & note to self : never ever eat a whole box of regular salted popcorn . I might as well go though a few sacks of salt if I want to get the same thing man . Somemore the salted popcorn gets saltier with every bite .

Not sure if it's just me , but does cinemas sell buttered popcorn ar ? If they do , then great I should select that should I go watch a movie next time . If not they probably should start adding that to the list like permanently . + or better yet , I bring my own food along to the movies .

Luckily I ordered the regular size . If I ordered the large , I think I'm doomed & will be overdosed on salt .

So after the movie ended , both of us made our way to Raffles City . I didn't want to eat brunch so I decided to have some soup instead at Soup Spoon . Usually whenever I go to Raffles City's Soup Spoon , I always order the Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff but eariler I was feeling sian & I thought I should try something different which I did !

I went ahead & ordered a regular Sour Cream & Onion which was fab but the strange thing was that I didn't asked to get that takeaway but other than that , the Sour Cream & Onion was all good !

Initally I thought it would be potato based but realised it was cream based . But I think this wouldn't be permanent on the menu :(

Soon after , it was time to make our way to the Esplanade & if you ask me the last time I been there was last Dec to catch Corrinne May perform during Christmas & talking about her , she's making her way back home in Aug where she will be performing at NUS's UCC Concert Hall on 3rd Aug which I'm definitely going for it as soon as ticket details are released in her official MySpace & MySpace blog.

I took a walk outside of the Esplanade & to me it looks nicer at night as compared to in the day .

As embarassing as it sounds , I haven't or should I say didn't know that there was a library located inside the Esplanade -_- . Maybe I'm ignorant or something but all along I'm not a book person . I'm more of a magazine person .

But anyway , library@esplanade's located at the 3rd floor & it's a nice place & it's bigger than I expected it to be .

I saw Linda & Y making their way inside the library as they were scheduled to perform at 7pm . I said hi to them & introduced the both of them to Jiha . Has been a while since I last caught up with the lovely folks of Lunarin & it's always nice seeing/catching them in performance & not to mention catching up too .

ET seems to be MIA for no reason & they said he would come shortly . They had to get ready so they excused themselves in no time . Cos it was still early , Jiha & I bought sometime by reading today's New Paper & some old magazines available for references in the library .

& finally in a matter of time , the show's about to begin . I saw ET , his fiancé Chris & Tim seated in front of a line of seats being lined up neatly . Jiha & I sat in the 3rd row .

At this point in time , I was wondering how come ET was sitting instead of playing alongside Linda & Y & haha after the show ended , he said he was playing the role of audience & that he didn't had enough time to gear up for it .

I managed to took some pics with my camera phone eariler & they turned out not bad I would say :

I really really like what Linda wore even though it seems that she's always decked out in black but I don't care , black rules . Y's ain't bad himself

I wanted to take more but as more people started to fill up the empty seats , it was getting difficult to snap more so these will do .

As it's an acoustic set instead of their usual sets , what Jiha heard eariler was already very mellow . If she went for their non acoustic sets , she probably might get the shock of her life haha

But anyway Lunarin minus ET who was playing the role of audience eariler , kicked things off with an always great & fanastic redition of Dry . To me , I think the acoustic of Dry rocks no matter what .

It was followed by new tracks that will be appearing in their still untitled 2nd album such as Red , 22 (I'm starting to wonder why the song title 22 but I probably can guess why ie. if my intution's correct) , a new song that I think they didn't played it at last month's Bar None Monday sessions , something called Right Of Sleep (I think that's the title , not sure) , Coralline .

By right they supposed to stop at Coralline but someone who was gung ho in the audience requested them to play Silverpiece which they did & haha for some reason/s , Y told everyone that he kinda forgotten how to play the melody to it oops but luckily he managed to remember so phew & after Linda & Y played a song , Linda kept talking to the audience & trading in jokes such as ET went MIA & that if you managed to spot him in the audience , that's not him & it's just someone that looks like him haha . Good one Linda !

& also another rather surprising issue that she raised eariler was that their debut album The Chrysalis has been pulled outta the shelves of HMV already :( I didn't know about it til I asked ET & he told me that happened about a month ago but oh dear , that's not good but I'm sure once they're done with the new album , they wouldn't go though the same shit again when comes to distribution of their album & just like what The Observatory has done with their latest A Far Cry From here , distribute it independently .

Of the songs that Linda & Y did , I really like 22 , Coralline . Silverpiece & Dry are still fab as always . It's radio's loss not to push Silverpiece to attain the deserved success that it should get . Both the acoustic & original versions of Silverpiece are great .

Anyway after both of them wrapped things up , I stayed a while to catch up with everyone as it has been a while since I last saw them . Jiha enjoyed seeing them performing at their last show for 2006 but hey at least it's better than nothing .

I thought Fuzz was supposed to come cos I didn't saw him just now in the audience but he did came after all . Was nice seeing him again that's for sure .

Cos Lunarin are currently doing a library promotion or 2 with library@esplanade where you can win 5 autographed copies of The Chrysalis , the 3 of them were busy signing whatever copies ET brought along & haiyo , the way Y signed the 1st CD which was the decoy , was pretty terrible . It was like some weird symbol that he anyhow drew on the sleeve haha + both of them for some weird reason/s even wrote down today's date . Er... -_-

so I told Y & ET , why not signed on the CD instead cos the sleeve doesn't contain any of their lyrics which in a way it does makes sense & what do you know , they decided to do it after all & what happened to the decoy CD ? I gave that to Jiha haha
which they don't mind yay

The guitars Y & Linda used eariler were loaned by Gibson & the guitars looked great . No wonder both of them commented they don't wanna return back to Gibson haha

ooh very nice shot of the both of them holding the loaned Gibson acoustic guitars if I should say

Today was good I would say . Caught a movie in the afternoon , caught a great (as always) acoustic set in the night , what more could I have asked for ? Although Lunarin wouldn't be performing any gigs as of now but I'm just glad that they went out with a big bang & I'm sure when they return back to the gig scene , they would play nothing but great new material which I'm looking forward to it super big time !

So it's down to the final 4 episodes of To Get Unstuck In Time (隔世追凶) that's currently showing at ChU from 10-11pm on weekdays & the finale will be aired next Wed & Rachel was right , there's only 21 episodes to it which's quite a rarity especially since it's a HK drama show that was produced & aired in Hong Kong 3 years ago.Somemore HK drama shows are usually about 30 or so episodes long , I seldom came across HK drama shows that only contains 21 episodes.

My mum heard that the ending sucks & judging from the synopsis that I read in ChU's website , I'm not sure if it's true or not but I have to find it out for myself next Wed night !

That's the beauty of HK drama shows , they have bite , substance , refreshing & unique ideas which I love watching them since young . But I just wonder , what happens if I really do stumble upon an antique phone which allows me to communicate with someone from the past , ie. 20 years ago which's the basis of To Get Unstuck In Time (隔世追凶).

I myself am not sure if this's a good or bad thing . I think the person that will probably benefit the most's the person I will be communicating with over the phone but sometimes you can't help but wonder in what way/s how your life will change for the best/worst if such a thing becomes a reality.

On another matter altogether , I decided & sort things out eariler over a giant sugar free chocolate eclair that it ain't worth it to get so untight over such trival issues relating to my paternal relatives cos in the 1st place , I have no right to butt into what they're doing .

Somemore I'm not involved in their nonsense to begin with & at the end of the day , they have to account for their actions which I figured it's better than to get so upset over them for practically nothing .

I don't stand to gain anything from it even if karma bites them in the ass cos it's their own lives , not mine.

Anyway enough of the depressing stuff , I'm looking forward to tomorrow big time . Gonna catch the sequel to Fanastic 4 with Jiha in the afternoon & following that , watch Lunarin in performance which unfortunately in a way or 2 , will be the last gig that they will be playing for this year.

I found this out yesterday & might as well since everyone will be busy with his/own agenda + writing/recording a new album which I cannot wait for it super big time . At most for tomorrow night , they will go out with a big bang even though it's an acoustic set.

But still I don't care I think tomorrow will gonna be a blast !

Been watching lots of music videos lately , such as Koda Kumi's Aishou , BUT & her latest FREAKY .

Aishou's awesome man , love the song & the video a lot . It's a ballad & I think the video setting to Aisho's beautiful . It's just Koda wearing a beautiful kimono & singing inside a Japanese inn . Good stuff but it's a whole different thing for BUT .

It's an upbeat no. & I think it's 1 of her more raunchy videos that I have caught & I thought Cherry Girl was raunchy but BUT takes it up a notch . I don't see anything simliar with Ayumi Hamasaki's Ladies Night .

BUT's pretty raunchy man & I think if MTV were to play it , they probably will only play it at night as there were some scenes that deals with lesbian issues . There was even 1 scene where Koda kissed a girl bodyguard in there so woah woah woah .

Initally I didn't like BUT as it sounded 1/2 finished but now it's not so bad . Her latest song is called FREAKY & hot video that goes along with it . If you ask me , it's probably 1 of the rare videos that she shot where she's almost covered up from head to toe cos usually that's not the case for most of her videos haha

but FREAKY's good , very nice stuff from Koda Kumi & the other songs that goes along with her FREAKY single such as Sora , girls are not bad too .

It's said that every family's dysfunctional in more ways than another . Mine's no exception but only this time , it's 1/2 dysfunctional . You know you're probably thinking huh ?

For me the dysfunctional portion comes from my paternal side . It's funny but when I was a kid & all , I was really & quite close to my paternal relatives but that wasn't the case for the maternal side but once I hit puberty & become more aware of what's happening around me , the tables have turned after I discovered/realised a few secrets/traits that they hide from me all this while & somehow I felt cheated in a way.

Take for example something that's currently going on . My paternal grandparents are having problems with the rented place that they're staying at the moment cos the landlord wants to increase the rent in due time . My other relatives only do nothing but add fuel to the fire .

My poor grandma got so worked up over this issue that she had to see a doctor yesterday but thank goodness it's ok .

Trait No.1 that turns me off is that my paternal relatives's they do things on the sly/quiet & then only tell my grandparents about it at the 11th hour . Just like a few years or so , they planned a trip to Taiwan & then it was only last min that they told my grandparents about it.

For this I have to admit , I did displayed some of this trait before . Like when I go out or do things on the sly without telling my mum where/what I do til the 11th hour . Obviously I learned my lesson the rather hard way & since learn to tell people where/what I do before things goes wrong.

Trait No.2 - a serious case of communication breakdown . Unlike my maternal relatives where everyone would sit down prim & proper to talk when things goes wrong , that's not the case for my paternal relatives . What they do ? they swept things under the carpet which makes things worst so aka little/minimal communication with each other & they only rely & follow the 'blind' aka my uncle to decide on things whether is it done right or wrong on his part.

Trait No.3 - the women in the paternal side are like lackeys . In short , they follow the men & they don't have a say as to how things are being done & all which's sad yet a bunch of basketcase's . This's so last century man . Whatever the men do , whether it's right or wrong , the women die die have to agree with what the men said/do even if they feel it's not the right thing to do . That's why Hui Li always comments that my cousin's lucky to have found & married someone who can tolerate this kinda behaviour cos if Hui Li was my cousin's wife , she would have kicked him outta the house , probably divorced him & gained custody of their 2 kids.

I'm not spared , even my dad behaves in this manner too so in a way it's how my paternal grandparents brought up their kids , to always have/do things their own way which's bullshit so you imagine , almost everyday I have to put up with my dad's spoilt & pampered brat-like manners .

Come to think about it , I pity & feel sorry for the women a lot . It's like they lost the willpower to argue/talk/fight over what's right for them . It's like something's taken away from them which's really sad.I'm not like that at all , if I don't like something & etc , I would just say it whether it will get me into trouble or not cos I take a firm stand on things & I wouldn't let people walk over me like a doormat . I paid my dues anyway.

Trait No.4 - they heard the wrong type of things though the grapevine . Example ? When I was posted to ITE after I screwed up the O levels , a lot of them talked me into retaking them or better yet , further my studies aboard cos it seems faster . Yeah sure except for the fact that they forget where to get all the $ to pump into my so called aboard education & they gave me dirty looks whenever I see them during dinner , like I'm a prostitute or something.

Cos all along ITE doesn't have a good reputation & doesn't help matters it's nicknamed It's The End . So what did I do ? I refused to retake the O's & went ahead to study in ITE which I can safely say it's 1 of those decisions that I never regret taking . I practically worked my butt out when I was there to prove to my paternal relatives that they're wrong that it's a place where I go there & become a gone case.

I should say that my mum's really flexible . She didn't battled an eyelid when I made up my mind to go to ITE . She's not narrow minded unlike my paternal relatives.

Now that I'm in Uni & all , I wish things will go smoothly in my Uni course . So far , in my 1st year , I did pretty well so hopefully that will be the same for the next 2 years or so . I don't want to take like 8 fucking long years just to do a stupid degree & til now , haven't graduate for fuck sake.

Trait No.5 - they follow the blind like iterally . Remember the '97 Asian Financial crisis where the stock market plunged big time & everyone who dabbed in the stock market got burnt big time ? my paternal grandpa was burnt badly with no thanks to his so called friends's 'advice' in selling & buying shares like they were playing a game of Monopoly or something.

Like if a company's stock prices are rising , my grandpa will buy them cos of assumptions from his so called friends that it's a good thing & vice versa . He really follow the blind & if you ask me , I feel sorry for my grandpa big time . Is it any wonder after that happened , we had to move & practically downgrade our house & in the process selling their 1st home & posessions away .

& the worst thing's that I didn't know about this prior to a few years ago & somemore my mum has a hand in paying off a rather huge chunk of the $ that my grandpa lost which's not fair on her part but thank goodness the dust has settled.

Somemore my Accounts lecturer told me before that the stock market's not a place where you go in & gamble . How true which's why I would never dab in the stock market . You don't know when you can go from hero to zero & usually when you hit zero mode , it ain't worth it .

Trait No.6 which's probably the worst outta the whole lot is that the kids WALKED over the parents ! It's as good as saying the roles of the paternal kids/parents are switched & that the parents becomes the kids & the kids becomes the parents .

This's something I cannot tolerate & understand in the 1st place . Like which idiot would think of walking over his/her parents & worst , scold them somemore . That's not the case for my maternal relatives .

I used to think that my maternal grandma's a real nag when I was a kid but when I grow older & all , I realise it's still true to a certain extent but she's firm when comes to nagging . She doesn't nag for nothing , you know & it's admirable on how she raised her kids.

She raised them in a strict yet firm environment which's why everyone's close knit which's something you don't see everyday.

I figured if I were to take over this trait , ie. I walked over my mum & all , my mum definitely would smack me big time & bring me down to Earth cos to me , this isn't right at all.

So needless to say , now I'm closer to my maternal relatives & not the paternal ones . In fact I'm slowly drawing away from them cos I'm quite disgusted with the way things are run/done at the other side.

Still think your family's dysfunctional ? Look no further.

Managed to collect my tickets to Rock For Wayne eariler at the collection venue which was at the top floor of Lido/Shaw Centre . Initally I thought that the venue to go to was McCafe but nope I was wrong .

By right it's at the top floor where Taco Bell/KFC/McDonalds & all the other food outlets are located . In short where the Lido cinema's .

I like the layout of the tickets . The design's nice . I preordered 3 from them with the other 2 which I probably will mail them out tomorrow.

& oh I discovered that BORDERS does sell Girlfriend ! Somemore they're selling it cheaper at S$5.40 unlike King Albert Park that's selling at S$7.50.

For dinner , I went to The Central which's a relatively new shopping place that's located a stone throw away from Clarke Quay MRT . The Central's nice & all but I didn't liked the carpark & the layout of the place which has so many escalators which made me feel really giddy.

Somemore I felt that whoever came up with design of the place , wasted too much space & placed too much emphasis on the escalators . Somemore it was pretty narrow too but then again , the carpark was pretty bad .

Going up the place , I almost got car sick . Same thing goes when my family left the place . We couldn't find the right lift/escalator to the carpark which was a bit frustating.

Had a really good meal at The Manhattan Fish Market
& it was the 1st time I stepped inside to try their food & boy to us it's fanastic . They're very generous with the portions & you defnitely pay for what it's worth.

My mum ordered a huge grilled & a deep fried platter that's fit for 2-3 people to share + a caesar salad & she topped it up with 2 bowls of cream of mushroom soup & 2 glasses of peach iced tea & before that , my dad commented that the food that my mum ordered was not enough . But when the food came , he ate his words like iterally cos at the end , everyone cannot finish the food as it was too much .

Grilled Platter :

Deep Fried Platter :

You see what I mean ? the portions are HUGE & my dad still said that it's not enough -_- & guess what ? he ate the least among the 5 of us . How ironic.

The fries that we brought back :

My god that's insane . If you ask me , I think there was more fries than rice that was served in the platter . Hui Li said that the garlic rice that came along with the platter was great . For me , I enjoyed the cream of mushroom soup (could tell that it's homemade & that they didn't use some prepackaged powder or stuff that was bought off the rack of the supermarket & it's 1 of the best mushroom soups I tried ) , the grilled fish , cuttlefish & prawns . The caesar salad was good too.

I actually had an overdose consumption of garlic eariler as I kept on dipping the grilled seafood into the cup of garlic that came along in the order man but the feeling was damn shiok & the garlic has a lot of kick.

I definitely would love to patronise The Manhatten Fish Market again . They have another outlet at Plaza Singapura so probably next time if I ever swing by there , I check it out !

& after that , I took a walk at Clarke Quay & as embarassing as it sounds , I haven't been to Clarke Quay for ages ever since they had a major revamp but I really like what I saw .

Very breath-taking , scenic & Clarke Quay has such a futuristic look now as compared to before . You imagine , back in the old days , I went to Clarke Quay when I was in Primary school as part of my school's education excursion haha

Mmm... I thought I would feel really happy & satisfied after buying a slice of sugar free cheesecake from Aroma yesterday but surprisely after I ate the rather huge slice of cheesecake , after that I started to feel really sick in the gut .

Not that the cheesecake was bad , in fact it tasted awesome but somehow , my system was struggling to digest the huge amount of flour & cheese that's found inside the cheesecake . I didn't really had any bad after effects problem last Fri when I had the sugar free chocolate cake but I guess this goes to show that my digestive system's changing.

Last time , I can manage about 2-3 slices of cheesecake without any problem but yesterday I was struggling to finish 1 slice of it & somemore it's sugar free . Thank goodness this only happened for a while & the sickening feeling was subsided after I downed a lot of water.

Maybe next time I should stick to chocolate cake instead .

I figure that since I'm currently on an extended long holiday , I might as well use the extra time to do something useful rather than just sitting at home & playing Mahjong in the computer almost 24/7 that's if I'm unable to secure a job.

Past 2 weeks I have been working out & heading to the gym almost everyday to tone up & also watching what I eat too . But I don't believe in deprivation , I'm not some crazy nut who only eats 1 meal a day which's stupid .

Somemore I'm big on desserts too & have a terrible sweet tooth . Also I have to add , I'm a lazy ass when comes to going to the gym but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do whether you like it or not.

I'm like a pacman , if there's food in front of me , I would eat it straightaway , no questions asked but now I don't have the urge to do that anymore . But so far it has been working well which's great . I'm planning to continue on , I don't see any reasons why I shouldn't.

Later on going to collect my tickets for Rock For Wayne. It's taking place 2 Sat's from now & I'm pretty excited about it . Somemore , next Sat it's Lunarin's acoustic set at library@esplanade too so I'm sure both events will be great.

& it's official , this's the 800th blog entry that I have penned woo

I always tend to have a love/hate relationship with $ . Like if there's something I really want to buy , I wouldn't have sufficient $ with me . Similarly , if suddenly I have quite a lot of $ in hand , I wouldn't have anything in mind to buy which's quite frustating yet ironic.

Same thing goes for a big sale too like The Great S'pore Sale that's currently taking place . It's funny but to me , whenever sales are taking place & all , I don't have anything in mind to buy but when there's no sale going on , I would have lots of things in mind that I want to buy . I know it's very strange but I'm sure I'm not the only 1 experiencing such an issue here & there.

At most I suppose if I do have a bit more $ in hand than usual , I always tend to spend it on food , food & more food haha which's what I'm gonna do later on .

I bought a copy of Mika Nakashima's THE END mini album & gave it a listen yesterday . Not bad , already heard some songs before I got hold of THE END & the album screams out nothing but J Rock/J Pop which might shock people to know that by right , Mika Nakashima's forte/musical roots lies in Jazz/Blues .

It's as good as saying what if suddenly 1 day Jazz singer Michael Buble decided to swing to the Rock/Hip Hop genre if you ask me which I hope it wouldn't happen !

THE END contains songs that she did for the hit manga turned movies NANA & NANA 2 . Even though I never read/watch the manga nor caught the movies , I like the album content of THE END although I wish GLAMOROUS SKY would kick start things rather than Hitoiro which's unfortunately is quite bland to me .

No surprises why Hitoiro didn't performed as well as GLAMOROUS SKY in which GLAMOROUS SKY was her 1st #1 single on the Oricon chart but the saving grace for Hitoiro was that I like the video , it's pretty cool . Mika Nakashima really went all rock chick in NANA & NANA 2 man , with her smoking & holding a cigarette in the press pics of NANA & NANA 2 although in real life she does smoke but not very often .

& Hitoiro which was the theme song to NANA 2 , only managed to peak at No.4 in the Oricon single chart.

I like EYES FOR THE MOON & the Eng no. MY MEDICINE too . Another Eng no. MY WAY's quite good as well & it was pretty funny hearing Mika swearing/singing MY WAY as there was 1 line in the lyrics of MY WAY that went "There were times, I’m sure you know/When there was fuck, fuck, fucking else to do"

Wah it's not often that I hear a J Pop singer swear/sings with this kinda lyrical content.

Mental note to self : next time see a dentist once every 3/6 months or else you will experience a rather hell of a torture after you paid a visit to the Room Of Pain . Which was what happened to me this morning.

I haven't been seeing a dentist on a regular basis which I should but thank goodness I went today or else if I were to delay it even more , what I went though today is probably gonna be a lot more worst & to think my dad still chided me for going to the dentist.

If I didn't went eariler , I wouldn't have known that my gums were in pretty bad shape . Surprisely the pain that I experienced eariler when I was at the dentist , it was bearable although beforehand the dentist did warned me to brace myself.

If you ask me , it still beats getting my ears pierced which the pain level was even more on a higher scale than what I experienced this morning.

Man my left knee's killing me at this very moment . Must be from all the walking that I did all over CBD just now cos I wanted to find out where 1 Raffles Quay & Far East Square (The Pavilion) are located at respectively .

With help from my mum , I managed to find where both places are located at . I started out finding the location of 1 Raffles Quay & wow the place's really nice & it's pretty easy to find . After that I went in search of finding where Far East Square (The Pavilion) & unlike eariler , this time round I went with my gut feeling & intuition.

& sure enough in due time , I managed to find the place despite the scorching weather . Hmm.. I seem to have a knack of able to track down places that I never been before if you ask me . I saw The Pavilion inside Far East Square & Rock For Wayne's gonna be an indoor gig if I'm correct .

I have to find out sooner or later where Far East Square's or else I will be in trouble as I have to make my way there 2 Sat's from now .

Well that was pretty easy . At least this time round , I didn't get lost unlike last time when I had to find where Dan works . Was pretty embarassing , I got lost at the Chinatown area for over 2 hours & I just kept on walking & walking & walking til by a stroke of luck , I found out where his working place was haha . Somemore I didn't asked people for help too so that's pretty something.

At least that time , it took place the day before I 1st met him in person or else it wouldn't be a pretty sight & of course since then , going to his workplace & meeting him here & there becomes 2nd nature to me.

Oh which reminds me , I haven't seen the dude for a while , I probably do so 2 Sat's from now that's if he's busy with work . If not I probably go meet up with him next week or something .

Looks like I wouldn't be heading to MediaCorp this Wed after all . Soon told me eariler that the recording of 987 Home will be postpone to next week as Caleb cannot make it this coming Wed . In a way it's fine by me cos since I'm on holidays , it's alright.

Turns out that Diveka hasn't gone back yet ! I thought she already went back last week but nope . She's flying back tomorrow morning at 9.10am . Not sure if I want to wake up real early just to send her off at the airport cos it's early man . I think I have to get up something like 6am or so cos if I were to make my way to the airport from my house , I probably have to take 1 hour or so cos I have to take a bus & then take MRT . See whether can I wake up expectionally early tomorrow or not.

My mum's b'day tomorrow yay & usually every year Hui Li will be in charged of buying the right b'day pressie for her & all but this year it will be my time ! I don't really know what to get for her later on when I head outta the house but I definitely will be getting something for her.

I already got ready the b'day card . Now's left is a suitable pressie & to me it's not so much on how expensive/flashy a b'day pressie has gotta be . What's more important's that it's the thought that counts at the end of the day . No point getting something so expensive & yet it doesn't come from your heart . It's pointless if you know what I'm talking about.

Well at least for today I have a valid reason for snucking outta the house haha

Well this's a surprise . I thought yesterday I would have spent a bomb when I went to 2 Perlini Silver outlets but guess what ? I didn't bought anything which's surprising despite the fact that PS's currently having a sale on that 50% off on all bracelets & pendants.

I went to the Raffles City & Bugis Junction outlets but nothing caught my eye/attention . I wanted to buy a bottle of Silver Jewelry Cleaner , also don't have . Apparently it has been outta stock for a while so for that I have no choice but to wait.

Even though I didn't bought anything from PS , I did splashed out S$7.95 for a piece of sugar free chocolate cake which was PURE HEAVEN man . I know it's a bit crazy to shell out almost 8 bucks for a piece of chocolate cake but it's sugar free man !

Somemore I bought it at Aroma that's located at the entrance of Olive Tree restaurant that's located at Hotel InterContinental & I found out that they recently started selling sugar free pastries that will be permanent in their menu which's great although I'm not so sure about the rather steep prices.

Like a bag of sugar free butter cookies's going for S$8.50 which's a bit steep for me but I did tried some free samples of it . It taste fanastic man ! Maybe I should head down to Aroma at most once a week to go buy their sugar free pastries . The chocolate cake was so good man . Maybe I should buy another slice next week or get something else instead but we'll see.

:: Poem ::

O Mortals !
What is Love
That binds beyond life on earth ?

To all corners
in a pair we fly
Braving summer
and winter by and by

Union is bliss ;
parting is woe !
Agony is boundless
for a lovelorn soul !

Sweetheart ,
give me word ...
Trail of clouds
drifting forward ...

Amid mountains
capped with snow
Whither shall
my lonesome
shadow go ??
