Electrico Plays Host To Rivermaya At Bar None

One of Philippines' biggest rock acts Rivermaya will be gracing Singapore shores come October 25, 2005. The three-time victor of MTV Pilipinas Favourite Group award, Rivermaya will be teaming up with Singapore's own indie rock powerhouse Electrico at Bar None, Singapore Marriott Hotel.

"Besides being good friends, we are huge fans of theirs and respect their work tremendously, so we are really excited for this upcoming show as well. If anything it is a great way to introduce each others bands to a new fanbase!" says guitarist Daniel Sassoon of Electrico on what is one of the most anticipated shows of the year.

The Singapore band has been keeping busy after their prestigious nomination for Favorite Artist - Singapore at the MTV Asia Awards 2005. Besides recently playing to a full house at the Esplanade's recital studio, the band's been hard at work on album number two.

"Well, we have been in the studio recording, so that is taking up most of our time as we want to make sure we get it right... Also, we have recorded a collaboration with Rivermaya, which we are both working on in two separate countries by sending computer files to each other, which will appear on our album and possibly Rivermaya's next one too!" adds Sassoon.

Catching two of the biggest bands in Asia performing together is an experience that money can't buy, for the show will not be opened to the public. Daniel's a BIG fan of Rivermaya's music I can assure you haha . Both bands played at the international pattaya festival a few months back & also met up for the 1st time during the mtv asia aid at bangkok in march & yes looks like his wish finally come true haha , for him only that's . Rivermaya's a great band & now I'm hoping that I can go & attend the gig WOO .
